- There's more bounce with every ounce -

This painting was roused shall we say, by playfully combining, quite simply, two puddings that, well, wobble and bounce.

Jell-O was once only for the well-to-do in the Victorian era, and became the mainstream product we fondly remember from our childhood with the help of new technologies such as refrigeration. Its popularity hitting an all time high during the baby boomer years.  The dazling colour of Jelly in its exciting, mysterious form, still a wonder as an adult, set the scene, inspiring the drama of a vintage travelling carnival with rides, games of chance, freak shows and burlesque taking audiences on a journey into fantasy and spectacle - just like Jelly.  Who better to combine Jell-O with than the American house hold name, the biggest in Burlesque, Dita Von Tesse, a beauty styled on 1930s cabarets and clubs.

Be prepared for this printed artwork to take you on a journey of fantasy and spectacle.

Fine Art reproductions are made by taking 4-6 photographs of my originals and stitching them together. This way there’s more information to create a crisp print at the same size as the original painting. Then they’re printed and colour matched, a process called proofing which can take several frustrating hours before the first usable copies finally roll out ‘hot off the press’ using lightfast inks on archival 310g Hahnemühle paper, which is not actually paper, it’s ripped up cotton rags. Hahnemühle is the brand of paper - an excellent paper mill that started in 1584 Germany.

AN INTERESTING FACT: During the Second World War, the company created paper for the SS-Reichssicherheitshauptamt's efforts to produce counterfeit British banknotes as part of Operation Bernhard.

Each Limited Edition print is embossed, hand signed and numbered by me the artist. Remember paper prints that are framed will see it's lifetime double that of one left in it's tube under your bed.

The original artwork of this print is currently being exhibited in  Wynwood. Miami. Florida. Represented by:  Galleria GUM
