Fine Art reproductions are made by taking 4-6 photographs of my originals and stitching them together. This way there’s more information to create a crisp print at the same size as the original painting. Then they’re printed and colour matched, a process called proofing which can take several frustrating hours before the first usable copies finally roll out ‘hot off the press’ using lightfast inks on archival 310g Hahnemühle paper, which is not actually paper, it’s ripped up cotton rags. Hahnemühle is the brand of paper - an excellent paper mill that started in 1584 Germany.
AN INTERESTING FACT: During the Second World War, the company created paper for the SS-Reichssicherheitshauptamt's efforts to produce counterfeit British banknotes as part of Operation Bernhard.
Each Limited Edition print is embossed, hand signed and numbered by me the artist. Remember paper prints that are framed will see it's lifetime double that of one left in it's tube under your bed.
